# Protect: blocking downloads of unsafe content on HTTPS pages


The [HTTPS](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP) protocol supports data encryption and is considered to be secure for transferring confidential information. However, connections over HTTPS are only safe if all page elements are encrypted. Sometimes website pages are loaded over HTTPS, but they contain unencrypted elements such as plug-ins, JavaScript, or CSS style sheets. Hackers can intercept and use these to crack the site. This is why [Yandex Browser](https://browser.yandex.com/) turns on protection from unencrypted elements within the [Protect](https://m.yandex.ru/support/browser/en/security/protection.md) security system.

If a page uses HTTPS but includes unencrypted elements, then they will be blocked.

If you want to load blocked content:

1. Click ![](../_image/grey-lock.png).
1. In the **Ad and tracker blocking** section, click **Settings**.
1. Click **Unblock in this tab**.
