In terms of developmental differences, if we look at birth order in general we know that older children and first born children tend to perform better academically, but that interpersonal relationships are only relevant it seems when kids go back into the family unit which is why Christmas is always such an interesting time for big families.

That means that you make as much time to for each of them to speak about what’s going on for them and do things with them as individuals as well as as a family because that’s the stuff that really helps to mitigate these myths about being the middle child and always being ignored.
